Affordable Rental Development and Management

Since 1990, LCDC has developed 101 units of beautiful, quality affordable rental housing. We currently own and manage 96 units with an approximate value of $4.1 million. Rents for our studio to four-bedroom units range from $260 to $800. The majority of our residents pay no more than 30% of their monthly income in rent. We also manage eight affordable rental units outside of our own portfolio and 37 condominiums.

In 2002, LCDC began predevelopment on three multi-family buildings in Lawndale – 3622 & 4123 W. Cermak and 1836 S. Hamlin – in order to create 32 affordable rehabbed rental units. We have owned 4123 W. Cermak (New Covenant Apartments) since 1990 and purchased 3622 W. Cermak (Praise Apartments) and 1836 S. Hamlin recently. Our goal is to renovate these buildings as affordable rental developments.
