Anthony Pegues joined Lawndale Christian Development Corporation in 2018. Anthony is the Director of Accounting for LCDC and is responsible for all accounting functions of the organization from accounts payable to financial analysis and reporting; he comes with over 28 years of accounting experience. Anthony got his start in accounting working alongside the CPA of a construction company that built 20 – 25 homes in the North Lawndale Community. He later went to work for another minority owned Construction Company that built 50-75 homes on the South Side of Chicago.
Anthony, a native of Chicago grew up in North Lawndale where he attended and graduated with national honors from George W. Collins High School. Upon graduating from George W. Collins High School, he attended Taylor University in Upland Indiana where he received his BA in Accounting. An outstanding scholar athlete, Anthony played football and wrestled while attending George W. Collins. He returned to North Lawndale after graduating from Taylor University and coached as the defensive coordinator for five years and later coached as the head coach of the Lawndale Falcons Park District junior football team for 3 years. Anthony currently resides in the North Lawndale Community with his lovely wife of 29 years, Marla and their two children, Pazlee and Anthony Jr.
